The North Central Texas College Society chapter set the bar high this year. The chapter received the Founder’s List award for achieving 8 out of 10 pillars of the organization. They were also involved in community service projects including toy sorting and bell ringing for the Salvation Army, a campus-wide food drive, service to the Trio program, and involvement with Keep Denton Beautiful.

   CCC students inducted into leadership society

This spring more than 200 students were inducted into The National Society of Leadership and Success from Nebraska’s Central Community College campuses. In addition, five students each from CCC-Grand Island and CCC- Hastings, and seven students from CCC-Columbus received the NSLS’ National Engaged Leader Award (NELA).

Dakota State University’s Society Chapter held its first ever induction ceremony recognizing 70 new DSU members. This spring’s induction ceremony included a keynote address by Jon Waldman, a DSU graduate who is a partner and senior information security consultant for Secure Banking Solutions, LLC.

   Sigma Alpha Pi Inducts 46 Surry Community Students

Forty-six students were inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi, Surry Community College’s chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, during a ceremony held April 25, at the SCC Gymnasium. SCC President Dr. Shockley told the group that they are the leaders of the future and emphasized how important it is for them to take on leadership roles in their communities.

   Local students selected to attend National Conference

Society member Jane Velahos has been selected by the Salem County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to attend the Nation Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL). This year the conference is being held during the last week in May at the College Park campus of the University of Maryland.

On Saturday, May 16th and Sunday May 17th the Society Chapter at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN will be sponsoring an on campus health and wellness expo. A wide range of vendors will be attending and promoting the cause including: Chiropractic, Massage and Energy Therapy, Nutrition Counseling, Yoga, Health Screening and much, much more.

Bradley University’s Society chapter receives the Order of Sigma award from The National Society of Leadership and Success. The Order of Sigma award is the Society's highest honor in the pillar program, reserved for those who successfully complete all 10 pillars in the administration of their chapters. In the 2014-2015 academic year only 9 of the 475 chapters across the country earned this status.
