American businesswoman Kat Cole, group president at FOCUS Brands, will speak on “Impact: The Art of Change, Trust and Influence,” at the free Spring Speaker Series at New Jersey City University on Tuesday, February 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Margaret Williams Theatre of Hepburn Hall, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City.

Ivy Tech Spokesman Chris Schilling says that Kat Cole will present “Impact: The Art of Change, Trust & Influence” from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Columbus Learning Center Auditorium. He says the event, which will provide Cole’s insights into leadership on how to impact communities, is free to you, as well as all Ivy Tech students, staff, and faculty.
Leadership organization teaches secrets to success

The newly established Society chapter at the University of Dayton has been growing quickly. The chapter had over 480 members join during its first semester; 450 of those members are set to be inducted this February. “Not only has the society taught me to embrace leadership opportunities presented to me at the university, but through it, I have made endless connections with my peers, faculty and other leaders to help with my educational and professional career,” said Ellen Krueger, a sophomore psychology major and member of The National Society of Leadership and Success.

On Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 7 to 8:15 p.m., Juju Chang, renowned journalist for ABC News, delivered her speech, “The Power of Your Story,” in front of students at New Jersey City University. National Society of Leadership and Success chapter members from approximately 500 colleges nationwide, including IU Southeast, held events on campus for students, broadcasting Chang’s speech via the Internet. “They try to be as diversified as they can, and they also try to find people to speak that are accomplished so they can give us better ideas on how we can be better accomplished,” said Danielle Devers, biology junior and Success Networking Team coordinator of the IUS NSLS chapter.

Allison Rose Junca, member of the Society chapter at Louisiana State University, was crowned Queen of Okeonas LXVII in New Orleans. She is set to receive the key to the city from Mayor Mitch Landrieu later today (Thursday, February 11th, 2016).
