On Thursday, December 10th, 2015, The Historically Black Colleges and Universities Center for Excellence hosted The National Society of Leadership and Success’ Positively Impact Student Engagement through Leadership Development presentation in its online Behavioral Health Webinar Series. Attendees of the webinar benefitted by:
Learning how to lead others towards a common goal or vision through effective communication
Learning how HBCU campuses are fostering student leadership skills that drive student engagement and can positively impact retention
Learning how student leadership development programs help bridge the college-to-career skills gap
The Society’s very own Marissa Curry (Senior Director of Program Development), and Kenya Rutland (Principal and Chief Enthusiasm Officer of KJR Consulting), led the webinar in discussing effective communication techniques and the role leadership programming on HBCU campuses plays in driving student engagement and retention.
“We thought the information shared was insightful. Hopefully others in the HBCU network will take advantage of this resource,” said Joan Trent, Program Coordinator of HBCU-CFE.
To date, over 17,000 HBCU students across 21 campuses have joined The National Society of Leadership and Success.
